The YWCA mentoring program, YW-Buddies, began in 1989.  The YW-Buddies Program is designed to match children with a positive role model.  Volunteers are matched based on the child’s specific needs and common interests.  Our mentoring program has matched close to 1,300 children over the past 23 years.  Studies show that role models truly increase a child’s ability to have a successful future.

For over 20 years, this program has served children of Central Louisiana and has helped to produce positive individuals.   We know from these matches that they can change children’s lives for the better and your support will help make this happen.  What we do for a child will be remembered for a lifetime.

We are getting ready for our annual fundraiser, “Bowling for Buddies” to be held March 24, 2012.  All 5 person bowling teams are $100 ($20 per participant).  If you are interested in getting a team together please call the YWCA at 318.442.3397

YWCA Buddies Program is a mentoring program that matches children with positive role models. All children can use positive influences in their lives. The children matched are between ages five and twelve. Our goal is to reinforce positive attributes, including a strengthened sense of self-worth at home, in school, and in the community. All matches are based on either site or school during the school months.

Fees

•     Family Membership: $100 per year
•     Adult Membership: $25 per year
•     Youth Membership: $10 per year
•     Day Camp: $80 weekly ($5 dollars off each additional child)
•     After School Care: $45 weekly ($5 off each additional child)

YWCA membership is not a fee for service. It is a statement of support for the goals and programs of the YWCA. Your YWCA membership offers many opportunities for those in need. We are grateful for your membership!
